  • Sugar prices decline on subdued demand

Mumbai, Apr 17 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid lower millers offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 14 per quintal to Rs 3,906/4,005 from last Saturday's level of Rs 3,920/4,005.

Medium sugar (M-30) also moved down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,980/4,162 as against Rs 3,986/4,162 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,906/4,005 (Rs 3,920/4,005).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,980/4,162 (Rs 3,986/4,162).
